First half XX century D.R. Congo 

A large and impressive museum quality ceremonial palmwine drinking cup/horn from the Luba people. Dated before 1940. 

In good condition for it’s age, one chip on the upper rim and normal user wear. 

Highly decorated and finely carved with geometric shapes and a male sitting figure with his hands on his head. 

Provenance: ex collection Africa Instituut Rotterdam 
Old estimation papers included (see two last pictures).
